Setting Up

TapMango + Lightspeed Retail integration works via Lightspeed API (application programmable interface). In order to TapMango to gain access to the API, you must allow us to communicate to TapMango on your behalf.  This is described in Step 1.

Additionally, if you chose Option 2 in our Choose your Option section, then you must set up a non-inventory product in Lightspeed with a custom sku TAPMANGO and name REWARDS.  This is described in Step 2.

Step 1: Getting API Key

API Key is a like a password that TapMango uses to communicate to your Lightspeed Install on your behalf.  Here is how to get one:

  1. Log into your Lightspeed Retail site.
  2. Go to Setting → Client API Access
  3. Click on
  4. In the Request an API Key popup, provide the following note:  "I will use this API key to integrate with TapMango".
  5. Click Request API Key.
  6. You will receive an email once Lightspeed generates an API key for you.  This may take anywhere from 1 hour to 2 business days.  You can call Lightspeed to expedite the process.
  7. Once API Key has been created, you will see it in the list under Client API Access section.  It should look like a long string of letters and numbers.
  8. Click on the key, and look for Add Access Privilege section:

9.  Make sure that Access to All Controls is selected, and "Read" checkbox is checked.  Click on "+ Add Privilege" button, and then on Save Changes at the top.

10.  Send an email to support@tapmango.com with the API key you received.

Step 2: Setting up Rewards Product

Adding a Rewards product to the sale will notify TapMango that this sale should be considered for rewards.  Adding the Rewards product is just like adding any other Lightspeed product:

  1. Log into your Lightspeed Retail site.
  2. Navigate to Inventory → New Item
  3. Create a new item by specifying:
    1. Description: REWARDS
    2. Type: Non-Inventory
    3. Custom SKU: TAPMANGO
    4. Any other options are optional.
  4. Save Changes
